I still can't believe that they managed to come from Norway, Denmark and Germany just to spend time with me! What lovely, wonderful friends I have!!

Oh dear, so much has happened since then... I have got a job at The Voice TV in London (a Scandinavian music TV channel) where I work as a broadcast tape operator. I really like it, and the work environment is really good. Great people and a likeable job. So I am happy in my work. The only bad thing is that it takes 1.5 hours each way to get to and from work... It's incredible what you get used to after a while...

Other than the job we have joined a gym where we go three times a week. Unfortunately I have only lost 1kg after working out since last summer. I don't understand how it is possible not to lose any weight when I exercise much, much more than I have ever done. Oh well. I'm not really too bothered about it, but it would be nice to see some more results...

So to the most important event... We are getting married in less than 2 weeks! Iek! Squiek! I'm a bit nervous about it... I have got most of the things sorted, but I am still worried that something will go wrong. And worst of all I know I will cry for most of the day. It's gonna be really annoying. Most of the time I don't mind being an emontional person, but this is one day where I want to be able to stop the tears... If I cry too much maybe people will start wondering whether they really are tears for joy... Man... I also feel that I should hold a speech, but I know that will be way to emotional for me, so I don't think I will. BUT I FEEL I SHOULD. AARRGH! It is so hard to know what the right thing to do is...

 Comments

Spinning around

Craig and I went to the gym yesterday. We had been told that we could show up at 6.30pm to go for induction at 7.00pm, but as it turned out this information was wrong and the induction session for that day was full. Got pretty annoyed as we were all geared up to exercise. But as it turned out we did not have to complete induction to participate in the spinning classes so we decided to try it out. OH MY GOD how exhausting. It was a one-hour class and after 15 minutes I was seriously struggling; sweat dripping and hair like a bird nest. After spinning for about 45 minutes we did some more leg exercises that nearly had me breaking down on the floor... It was a huge relief when we laid down to do abs! Still, even though my bum is incredibly sore today it was really good exercise and we'll definately go again. The class had a really good vibe, people laughing and carrying on. Maybe we'll make some friends there?

I still enjoy it, and the food is still delicious... The pay is also pretty good, so I'm pretty much happy! I think tomorrow will be my last day here though, so hopefully it won't be too long before I get some more temp-work. Still, what I actually want to do is work in film production so I will soon sign up with a few websites that advertises those sorts of jobs.

Yesterday Craig and I went to Uxbridge and did some shopping. We bought 11 books, two DVDs, a CD, clothes etc. Major shopping spree. We had so much stuff to carry home that my arms felt like they were going to fall off. We had a really nice day, though, which we ended with a nice meal and chocolate cheesecake. YUM.

Craig and I caught up with Anette Bratteberg and some of her friends on Friday night at a place in Notting Hill. It was really nice to see her again, but unfortunately the music at the place was so loud that it was hard to have a conversation. She seems to really enjoy London, though, and plans on staying for a while, so hopefully we'll catch up with her and her boyfriend soon!

Valentine's Day has also come and gone; Craig surprised me with 20 roses and another bunch of flowers, a box of chocolate and a beautiful card. He really is the BEST boyfriend. I'm ashamed to say what I gave him, so I won't...

Craig and I are joining a gym tonight, so hopefully we'll get to go there a couple of times a week. They have spinning classes there, so I'm really looking forward to signing up. Unfortunately it is not very close to our home (nothing is!) so that may be a bit of a deterrent...

 Comments

I'm back!

Oh man, it has been sooo long since I last had easy access to the internet. Sorry for not posting anything for over a month...

Anyway, a lot has happened since Christmas... Craig and I have finally settled in London, close to Wembley Stadium. We like our apartment even though it is in a really industrial place. It is much smaller than our house in Liverpool, of course, but I think I actually prefer the apartment anyway. It is much warmer (at least when the central heating works).

I have not got a permanent job yet, but I started temping yesterday so today is my second day of paid work. I quite enjoy it so far. The company I'm temping for is filthy rich so we get free three course lunch and delicious restaurant-bottled sparkling water. Mmmm. The building is also beautiful, really old and impressive.

Tone has visited me for a week, so when we get the internet at home I'll post some photos from her/our holiday. It was sooo nice to have her here, so just remember that you're all welcome to visit me!

A bit scary as it's permanent colour, but it should be relatively fun.

I tried on more wedding dresses yesterday. I had a whole gang of spectators and helpers: Mita (my sister), Ingvild (my friend), Mum and Margaret (my mum's friend). I must have tried on about 20 different dresses, none of which were nice until I tried the last one. That was a really nice dress, kind of similar to the one I tried in Liverpool. They were all oh'ing and ah'ing, but I stood there wishing I was wearing the Liverpool dress, so I think I might have to go for that one.

Last night I finally caught up with some of my friends. Thomas came over and later on Brita came down as well and we all walked around Vikanes together. That was really nice. Thomas came home with us afterwards and watched Desperate Housewives. Second episode of the second series. Looking forward to the second series starting in the UK. A larger gang of friends are coming to my place tonight at 7: Brita, Thomas, Bjørge, Kjersti and Astrid. Anders might come as well but I haven't heard anything yet. Can't wait to see everyone again!

Amit, Mita, Craig, Randi and I made gingerbread cookies yesterday. Probably made a few hundred. They tasted pretty good even though mum had put too much flour in the dough. She always puts too much or too little of something...

The apartment in Neasden seems to have been sorted out, so we are moving in in early January. We're meeting up with the landlord when we get back to the UK on the 27th, and hopefully it will be free for us to get the keys etc then. I really hope there will be no more problems or uncomfortable situations...

Today Craig and I will make pizza for dinner for the whole family so I better stop now as we have to go to get the ingredients...

 Comments

Home again.

Craig and I are back at Stord, taking things easy. It's been really good to sleep and relax for a couple of days.

Amit celebrated his 9th birthday on Friday, man that was a loud three hours. Still, the kids behaved better this year than last year, a sign that they are growing older I guess. Craig was a big success as the exotic foreigner, they begged him to ask them questions in English and basically hold an English lesson for them. Craig was a bit surprised and taken aback but managed well.

Today is actually Amit's birthday so we gave him our present today. He got the second spiderman movie and a knights' kingdom lego figurine. Unfortunately he already had the figurine so we are a bit worried now as we have bought another one (plus a Manchester United bag) for him for Christmas and it is very likely that he has already got that one too... So we might try and exchange the one we've got or else buy him something else. What a shame.

We're going for dinner at grandma's today, looking forward to it! Tomorrow I am working which will be quite nice I think, except I have to get up at 6.30am Norwegian time which is 5.30 UK time... Phew... It'll be painful...

Anyway, if any of my friends are reading this please contact me when you guys get home for Christmas! Looking forward to seeing you all.

Looked at approx 13 different places, from about 600 to 700 pounds per month. Man, it is so expensive there, and the apartments are generally pretty crap. However, we found one really good one in Neasden, which was also the cheapest one we looked at. We are really interested in it, but it almost seems too good to be true... We have told the guy we want the place and he said he's stop advertising it and let us have it, but he wants two weeks rent deposit this week. The thing is the contract has has not been written yet and nothing is signed and I don't feel we should hand over any money before we have signed a contract... I'm a bit afraid we're getting scammed and that he will just run off with our money if we give it to him. We don't know anything about him except his name although he seems like a nice guy... Hmmm, tricky situation. Anyway the place will not be ready until the end of the month / beginning of next month, which is perfect for us. So I just hope that everything will sort itself out. I really hope it's not a scam, cause we really, really want the place. Its location is perfect, and the size of the apartment is good for us... Keep your fingers crossed for us....

We're leaving Liverpool again tonight to fly back to Norway for Christmas tomorrow. Can't wait to get home again. Amit is celebrating his 9th birthday on Friday afternoon, so I'm looking forward to attending his birthday party. They're usually pretty crazy, and he's invited his whole class this year! Should be fun.

Going to work as a carer a couple of days while I'm home, for the little girl I used to work for before. Looking forward to seeing her again, she's so sweet!

Poor Craig only slept around 2 hours last night as he had to stay up and prepare his lecture and also mark all the essays for his students. Poor guy, I felt so bad when he got up and I just laid there sleeping... He's finished his lecture now, so I hope he comes home soon. I'm going to force him back to bed cause he really needs his sleep to be able to handle the overnight bus trip back to London again... Man, I really hate those overnight trips. When we went to London on Saturday night I had this guy behind me who kept talking so loudly that he kept everyone around him awake. We had all been sleeping before he got on the bus, but I didn't sleep at all after he got on. What a fuckhead. He also made me put my seat in an upright position because his girlfriend (who sat directly behind me) thought it was too cramped. And putting the seat up of course made it even harder to sleep. When they finally dozed off I put my seat back down, and they woke up soon after and started making comments about me. Man, I really wanted to tell him to shut his stupid mouth and tell him just how insensitive he was behaving towards the other passengers (some of them hushed him a couple of times, but he still kept talking), but I didn't. Regret that now.

I bought the ones I have at the bead shop here in Liverpool, but went to get some more yesterday as I am running out, but they were sold out! So now I don't know where to get them from as we're moving from Liverpool soon. I'm also running out of the little velvet hearts I'm using, and they were sold out at the Bead Shop as well. Just my luck, eh. Hopefully they'll get some in as I've only got about ten left, I think, and they'll be harder to get hold of than the crystals.

Anyway, I went to the dentist yesterday, and my mouth feels pretty weird now. She put some anaestethics (not sure how to spell that word) in my jaw and half my bottom lip went completely numb. Felt like a huge rubber slab had been put on my face. Very strange, have never had that done to me before. Fortunately it went away after a few hours.

Also went to the hairdresser yesterday and am now sporting a completely new 'do. Pretty happy with it as the hairdresser actually managed to give me what I asked for this time. Shame to leave Liverpool now that I've found a good hairdresser. Oh well.

Had my last day at work today. Kind of weird. I'm unemployed again... Really hope I find a job soon after we get to London. Going there tomorrow for about 3 days to look for a place to live. Hope we find something good as it is a major hassle and expense going there to look for accommodation... We'll see.

 Comments

SO ANNOYED!

Oh my God, I am so annoyed! So many things have happened lately that have just left me in a state of tiredness and annoyance.

1. Craig has been sick and has given me some of his disease, so I fell pretty sluggish.

2. We were followed and basically attaced with rocks and sticks by three teenagers on our way home from grocery shopping on Saturday night. The little pricks were really abnoxious and ruined Craig's umbrella. We ended up having to run after them and threaten them and chase them away as they were following us and we didn't want them to see where we lived.

3. A ticket inspector and a passenger on the bus started a fight because the passenger had paid a child's fare. The passenger was about 17 years old and tall and stronger than the 50-year-old ticket inspector so he ended up holding the inspector over a seat while they were shouting at eachother. I really don't get what the passenger thought he would gain by fighting the inspector when he was caught red handed and stuck on the bus?

4. I have had three excruciatingly boring days. Each day has felt like a WEEK. Don't want to say why in case the person who has caused the boredom reads this blog.

5. We gave our landlord notice that we were moving out on January 3rd, and he wrote back saying we were not allowed to do that but have to pay rent until January 24th. So this is gonna cost us probably £400 or more, which we really can't afford when we are moving to bloody London. The landlord says it is in our contract that we have to pay for a whole month after the day when rent was paid, but the contract is so fucking screwed up that we read it as one calendar month's notice. Which is what it has been everywhere else in the world I have lived. The reason why the contract is screwed is that he has paragraphs of about 20 lines of text without punctuation marks, so we have no idea where one sentence stops and another one begins. MAN I AM SO FUCKING ANNOYED!!

6. We are in the middle of packing our stuff so our house looks like a bombed horehouse (a common Norwegian expression).

7. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and am not looking forward to having the corners of my mouth torn open.

What a hard thing to do... Especially since I have heard rumors that he's been a bit nasty to other people who have resigned. So I was pretty relieved that he was understanding and took it well. It's really a shame to be leaving this job, I would have liked to stay for maybe another year to gain more experience. Especially as he talked about making me in charge of the editing team of about 4 or 5 other editors. That would have been such a great experience and would have looked really good on my CV. Oh well, I have already started looking for work in London, but there doesn't seem to be as much production related work as I thought it might be. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places?? I don't know... Hopefully it'll be easier once I'm there... Wish me luck!

It was really good. The third one is still my favourite though, as I felt that viewers who had not read the book would have missed out on something while the third one was just great and maybe added more than the book did. Man, a bit of a long and maybe confusing sentence there, but if you read it a few times you might understand what I mean.

Anyway, what else can I say? Well, it was incredibly foggy in Liverpool yesterday. You could hardly see 3 metres in front of you. Today at work I heard a rumor that people had taken advantage of the weather and that the Kwick Save where I basically shop every day on my way home from work was held up and robbed. As if that wasn't enough, the Gala BINGO was held up as well! I'm sorry, but I can't help but smile when I think about that, kindof funny that someone would think to hold up a Bingo hall...

I also went to my BFU meeting yesterday where the guys demonstrated how to direct a short film. Quite interesting. While the meeting was still going some promo girls came with limes which would give us free drinks at the bar. Pretty good. I only stayed in the bar for about half an hour though as I was incredibly tired.

Anyway, better go and cut up the chicken cause Craig will be home soon.

I really can't wait. I saw a "Behind the scenes" program yesterday and it looks absolutely fantastic. We planned on going yesterday, but all the sessions at the cinema with the best facilities were sold out, so we had to buy tickets for today. There were no good seats left for the evening sessions today either, so we decided to go in the afternoon instead. So now it's only 3 hours and 45 minutes left before it starts. Yipee!

 Comments

London Calling Part 4

Back again with the last part of my London Calling saga. Tuesday was our last day in London and also the day of Craig's big interview. We got up early and Craig left leaving me to pack up everything in the room. I messaged Remelle, but they were already on their way back to the airport so unfortunately we didn't get to see them again. Anyway, I spent a few hours in the hotel lobby with all our luggage patiently waiting for Craig to come back. Brunel University was about an hour and a half's travel from central London, so after I had sat around for long enough I went to a shopping street close to the hotel and had a look around the shops. Craig came back and changed out of his suit (which looks soo great on him!) at the hotel and then we headed for the bus station. Bought some chicken and chips on the way, but never got to finish it. At the bus station Craig got a call from the university and they told him that he got the job. After that we were a little bit excited and a little bit worried because London is incredibly expensive and he won't earn that much more than he does here in Liverpool... I wonder how we will do financially. Hopefully I will get an all right job as well. In that case there probably won't be a problem, but if I don't... hmmm, that might not turn out very well. We'll se. We had a look at a real estate agent's window and the prices for renting an apartment were about £350 to £750 PER WEEK. HELP! Surely there must be cheaper places than that...? I really, really hope so... Anyway, I better go because we're going to the city to do some Christmas present shopping. Hurrah!

 Comments

London Calling Part 3

After a nice night's sleep we had a good breafast with heaps of time to devour huge amounts of toasted bread slices. We then went sightseeing in London. We went to see Parliament even though we'd been there before.

We then went to have a look at Westminster Abbey as Craig hadn't seen it before. And after that to Piccadilly Circus:

They have some really fancy ads there now, it was much more primitive last time I was there.

The day was basically spent sightseeing. We had a huge and delicious meal at Pizza Hut, and went shopping for Christmas presents and also ourselves at Oxford St. I love that place, they have SOOOO many shops!

In the night we went to see Les Miserables. I was absolutely fantastic. We had some great seats on the front row, so close that we could see all the actors' facial expressions and even their spit! It was incredibly good, and I'm sure I cried during half the performance. Man, I really recommend that people go and see it, and get some good seats! Craig even enjoyed himself! Fantastic... I can't really describe it. Gotta go now, though for dinner is beeping!

 Comments

London Calling Part 2

Ok, that went all right. So I'm free to continue:

We had a horrible night's sleep that night. The room was tiny, tiny, tiny and the mattress had been used about 2000 times too many, so we both kept sliding into the middle of the bed. There was also of course only one sheet, so we had to share the doona. I really need my own space when I sleep, so things like that is a recipe for disaster for me. To get as much sleep as possible we timed when we should get up so that we would be able to both have a shower and breakfast before breakfast finished. But of course when I turned on the shower there was absolutely no hot water in it. We called the guy at the reception who told us to wait for 10 minutes and the hot water would come on. I thought it sounded pretty strange and unbelieveable, but we still waited about 15 minutes with no hot water before we called him again (of course the clock was ticking away our precious breakfast minutes). When we called him again he came up to our room and tried to figure out the shower, but couldn't. So he said we could shower in another room. It was only about 15 minutes left of breafast time, so we didn't have time. Therefore I ended up half showering in cold (and I mean freezing cold) water while trying to splash hot water on my body from the sink. A very very very annoying situation I really didn't want to be in that early in the morning. Craig just left to eat breakfast and I joined him after my "shower" and had about 2 minutes to grab whatever I wanted to eat before they took it away. I left the table still hungry... Poor me...

Anyway, I must admit we were happy to check out of that hotel and into the one we would stay in for the next two nights. The next hotel had a huge room (about three times as big as the previous one) and a nice bathroom with the BEST shower I have used since as long as I can remember! It was like showering in a waterfall. I LOVED IT. What a change of fortune we had. We spent the Sunday afternoon walking around Notting Hill, which was nice, and had lunch at an Indian restaurant. Very pleasant even though it was raining. After that we went back to the hotel and rested and slept for about an hour before we went to Leicester Square where we met Remelle, Vidar, Ryan, Henrik and Verona (Remelle's friend) for a movie. We watched Elizabethtown with Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom (my choice), which was not that great. I feel a bit bad because I chose it and it was pretty average. And it was incredibly expensive... Oh well... We went home after and had a much better night's sleep! I'll post again now as I have written quite a lot.

 Comments

London Calling...

Well, I actually spent about an hour writing an account of our trip to London, but just as I was about to post it the computer froze on me and I lost everything! Extremely frustrating, and also the reason why I haven't stomached to touch my blog since then. So I'm gonna make another attempt at informing you all, but it will probably be much briefer than the others. So here we go:

The first day started with Craig and me taking the Megabus from Liverpool to London. It was a really comfortable bus ride, actually, nothing like the ride from hell we had last time. So my faith in Megabus is restored. We got to London and our hotel in Bayswater around 4pm. We were dead tired from the trip and having to get up early, so we stayed in the room for a little while before we went to meet Remelle, Vidar (her partner) and Ryan (her brother) at Oxford St. Took the bus there, a fancy new London double decker. Quite impressive actually, and of course we sat on the top floor! After we met up with them (which was fantastic, so great seeing her again!) we went to a pub and had a few drinks. Henrik (my former flatmate from Sweden) came and met us after. So funny to see him again after what must be about 3 to 4 years! He's got a job at the BBC in London, the lucky guy... Anyway, we went to a Filipino restaurant and had a small meal which was pretty good. Then we went for a walk around Ryan's campus and into another pub for a few more drinks. We were soo tired when we got back to the hotel. (But I better post this now before I have written heaps and end up losing it all again...)

It premiers tomorrow... Man, I really have to go and see it on the weekend. We were at Leicester Square the night of the London premiere, but we were about twenty minutes too late to see the stars walk into the cinema. Too bad we missed out on that, would have been a great event to just bump into!

I'll be so good! Can't believe I actually have time off until Wednesday, what a wonderful feeling. Only bad I don't get paid holidays... Oh well, I've worked more than I hoped for, so I think I deserve a bit of a break! Can't wait to see Remelle again. I saw her in February, but the whole meeting was a bit weird as I was looking after a boy with Downs Syndrome that week and I was just too preoccupied with him to really get to talk to Remelle and get to know her boyfriend. I feel bad for that, I must have seemed really weird. But it was just because I kept worrying about the boy... It'll be really good to see her again, though. Woohooo, London, baby! It's like a mini-holiday. Can't wait to stay in a hotel!

We're taking the Megabus to London, which is a very cheap way of getting from Liverpool to London. We have taken it once before and after that trip I swore never to take it again. Honestly, it was the worst bus ride I have ever had, including bus rides in Thailand and Fiji! It was stinking hot because the air condition did not work, and we sat at the back of the bus. The enging was at the back and extremely hot air kept pouring out of some grates at the back of our legs. Very uncomfortable, and as a matter of fact a bit painful. Also, the wall against which we had to lean turned black during the course of the trip as exhaust from the engine was making its way through the wall. Disgusting. And to top it all off the bus broke down outside London, and all the passengers had to make their own way to the city. It was about a 40 minute walk to the nearest tube stop and we had HEAPS of luggage. It was really a horrible trip. But at least now I am prepared for the worst. I really don't think it can get much worse than it was the other time. Still, nothing's gonna stop me from enjoying this weekend! I just hope we get good weather.

Anyway, I better go now and cook dinner. Craig'll be home soon.

 Comments

Hungry

I'm sitting here, smelling the boiling basmati rice and feeling the hunger eat the insides of my stomach. I hope Craig comes home soon so that we can eat... I snuck (is that how you spell it? Sneak in past tense) quite a few of the Halloween toffees when I got home from work, and man they tasted good...

When I was at work this guy from a recruitment agency called. I sent out three CVs yesterday (all to the same guy), and he wanted to know if he could send my CV on to his client. So I said yes, of course. I was a bit weird on the phone because I was at work and felt very uncomfortable speaking to him there, but I hope I didn't come across as too rude... The bad thing about this is that the position is for a Press Assistant here in Liverpool which is kind of annoying as we might be moving to London. Oh well, we'll see what happens. He said he'd send a job description on email, but I haven't gotten it yet. Maybe he got too offended by my rudeness and I'll never hear from him again... Haha, that might be it, actually.

Anyway, nothing exciting has happened here since yesterday so I'll leave it here.

 Comments

Halloween

Man, I was so scared that our house would get egged yesterday, that I almost contemplated not going to my film club meeting. I imagined that if nobody answered the door I would have to spend a weekend cleaning dried-up youks off my windows. However, I tried to force those thoughts out of my head and went to my meeting - and came home to clean windows! Maybe the Kensingtong kids aren't as bad as their reputation is. One bad thing is that Craig and I bought heaps of candy (lollipops and delicious toffees) that we were going to hand out, but as nobody came during the hour we spent at home we're stuck with what seems to be 1.5 kilos of candy. Man, are we gonna get fat...

My film club meeting was ok yesterday, actually it was quite boring. The other meetings have been really interesting, though, so I guess one boring one is not that bad. We went for drinks in the guild bar afterwards, and there was a huge student party going on in one of the other room so everybody was dressed up in Halloween gear. I got a few strange looks as I was wearing jeans and a sweater. Oh well.

Work was all right today. I did some editing, duplicating of DVDs and a little admin work. Not very busy, but not too boring either.

Anyway, I better go and cut the chicken breasts cause Craig will be home soon. BYE!

Good thing is we get another hour in bed tomorrow, bad thing is we have much darker times ahead. Craig and I went to the city today. It was daylight when we went into H&M and pitch dark when we came out around 5pm. And we were not in there very long, I swear! Ok, maybe we were in there for 45 minutes or something, but my point is that it gets dark very quickly these days, and I'm not sure I like it. Oh well, at least it gives me the feeling that Christmas is coming up, which is plesant.

I just called my boss and asked if I could have Monday and Tuesday off next week, as Remelle and her partner are coming to London and Craig has his interview on the 8th. My boss said it was ok, so now we have ordered two more nights at a hotel and new bus tickets back to Liverpool. Can't wait to go, it'll be like a mini-holiday! I'm really looking forward to it. Not sure what we'll do yet, but seeing good friends is always great so I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time.

Anyway, I'm cooking rice porridge so I better go before it sticks and burns at the bottom.

It is incredibly exhausting and mind-draining to just sit in an office and do NOTHING at all and I am now so tired that I can't be bothered writing. I'm going home.

This means I will be the only one in work except for the boss. I'm really gonna miss her, we've been getting along really well, she's very nice. I think I'll have to do some of the admin work she has been doing as the boss has not started looking for anyone new yet (as far as I know). I hope it's not something I'll be doing for long, because her job seems really, really boring... However, there's not much editing or camera work scheduled for the next few weeks (or should I say months), so who knows what my job will entail from now on... Hmmm... Hopefully Craig will get that job in London, though.

The meeting yesterday went quite well, actually, the guys I met with are nice. Their script was really good, but it was sending out a lot of mixed messages so for them to be able to find an ending to it I believe they have to decide on what they want to say. I think the script could be successfully made into three or four different short films, depending on what they want it to communicate, so hopefully they'll settle on one message and end up with a great script.

I'm meeting up with some of the guys from the film club I told you about a couple of weeks ago in about an hour at a pub in town. The guys in the club seem really nice and I think I have a foot in the door for a couple of productions. We're meeting tonight to discuss, or rather come up with, the ending of one of the scripts. Should be ok, but I don't intend to stay long. I'm too tired. Went to the gym last night, hadn't been in a week. Phew... I'll try to go at least twice a week from now on. Anyway, better get going.

1. Craig has managed to get an interview at a university in LONDON BABY! The job is a 18 month research contract. I really, really hope that he gets it as it would mean we would move to a place there might be better job opportunities for me as well. I am still in my job at PFN, by the way. Strange, as I would have bet anything a couple of weeks ago that I would be gone by now. Anyway, on to number

2. We have now got internet connection at home! Unfortunately it is on Craig's very slow laptop, so although it means I will check my email and post messages in this blog more frequently it might not be an every-day occurence.

Well, that was the good news I had to share. Also I can mention that the weather has been absolutely dreadful here for about a week. England really lives up to its reputation for rain! Sometimes it feels like I'm still in tropic Australia with the way it splashes down, except that it is really cold here, of course.

It's kind of strange... Craig got to know about the interview yesterday, and since then we have both had a bit of a melancholy feeling that we might be leaving Liverpool. Despite the dislike we had for this place when we first arrived, we have had a fairly good time here. And we have our own house... we'll never be able to afford that in London... Oh well, who says we're going to London anyway? Craig might not even get the interview...

 Comments

Shopping and Gossip Mags

Phew... Just got to uni from spending a whole day in the city shopping. Man, Liverpool can be worse than Bangkok when it comes to people! Today has been a really nice and warm day, though, it has been like summer actually. This of course makes the shops stinking hot as their central heating is set for winter. Oh well, now we're going home and I'll cook risengrynsgroet (rice porridge) for dinner. Can't wait..!

I bough a gossip magazine today. Just couldn't help myself. The front page boasts about world exclusive photos from Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's wedding, and I just HAVE to sneek a peek. It's sad but the fact is that I really love celeb gossip. Actually, if I was going to be a journalist (against all odds and my own will) I'd definately work for a gossip magazine. Nothing more, nothing less.

I can't remember what I wrote last time so I'll just post this and check so I don't write the same things twice.

-----------------

Oh, yeah, that's right, Craig and I were going to Chester on Wednesday, but unfortunately the weather was way too horrible to even consider it. The sky seemed to just open an pour everything drop of water it contained down on Liverpool. I actually got an sms from my sister in Norway saying she had heard about the flooding and asking if I was all right. There was actually no flooding in Liverpool that I could notice, but I guess other places in Britain must have had pretty bad weather as well.

Anyway, we spent the day walking around the city as we had a few erands, and ended up having a huge and delicious lunch at a Chinese restaurant. YUM (in fact, that's actually the name of the restaurant as well!).

In the afternoon we took a couple of buses to Haydock, a place I had never heard of before Craig's friends informed us that that's where their hotel was located. We met up with them there and had another yummy meal for dinner. It was great to meet up with them but unfortunately we only got to spend about three hours with them as the last bus left around 10.30pm. We are now considering going to Ireland next weekend to meet up with them again. It would be great to spend a weekend in Dublin, I think! So we'll see what happens...

Also, regarding my job: I am actually still working. It's really strange because I was pretty sure Thursday would be my last day. But now my boss has found some more work for me to do! I'm really happy.

But now I better stop and start reading my gossip mag...
